We’d been so excited counting down the days, and today, we finally got to welcome Michelle’s family, especially their sweet little girl, Maya! 💜 To make her feel extra special, we prepared a small surprise: a set of adorable purple hair ties, just in her favorite color.
No Hanoi trip is completed without food. Together, we not only tried bánh cuốn, bánh gối, bánh rán - all lesser-known dishes that Hanoians love, but also learned more about the people, the cuisine and the culture. Our family totally loved every bite!
While wandering through the local market, our family was drawn to the colorful fruit trays, and jackfruit quickly became the star. Sweet, golden, and bold just like a Vietnamese summer. One bite and they were hooked, happily bringing a whole bunch home to enjoy later.
But today wasn’t just about eating, it was also about creating and connecting. The family were filled with excitement seeing their names beautifully carved on wooden stamps by an experienced local artisan. The moment Maya saw the stamp of a tiny puppy, just like their dog back home, her eyes sparkled with joy. Seeing Maya’s joy lit up our hearts, too. At the bamboo dragonfly workshop, we were stunned to see their creativity really shine. Each painted with love and joy, turning simple crafts into colorful masterpieces.

💛 It was such an honor to be part of your Hanoi story, Michelle, Michael, and Maya. We can’t wait to see you again for more local bites, more jackfruit, and a bold, black coffee or two for Michael cause we know he loves it!
