Children of all ages are welcome, and infants can join in a stroller or baby carrier, though we recommend a compact foldable stroller for Hanoi’s narrow streets. On our standard food tour, we take you to a hidden local coffee spot with great drinks and authentic Hanoi vibes that most visitors would otherwise miss. Instead of Train Street, which is easy to visit on your own, we focus on spots that feel more local and relaxed. We can also guide you there after the tour if you’d like to explore it independently.

If you really want to see Train Street during the tour, simply choose the 5pm tour and note it when booking, we’ll happily include it for you.

We still run the tour if it rains, as light rain is very common in Hanoi and we’ll provide raincoats to keep you comfortable. If it rains heavily, or there’s a flood/typhoon, we’ll contact you in advance to discuss and reschedule the tour together at a more suitable time.

Absolutely yes! Feel free to take photos and videos at every stop on the tour. We visit these places often, and the owners know us well and are comfortable with guests taking photos. Besides, our guide can help capture moments while you’re exploring, tasting, and enjoying the tour. Afterward, we’ll share the photos with you, and some may be featured on our website or social media. If you’d prefer to keep your experience private, just let us know, we’ll fully respect your wishes and won’t publish anything.

Both tours offer the same level of care, authentic food, and local stories. The difference is mainly in the atmosphere. During the daytime tour, we explore Hanoi in its real daily rhythm - the streets are already busy, locals are working, vendors are setting up, and life flows through small alleys and sidewalks. It’s lively, active, and very much everyday Hanoi.

We personally recommend the 5 PM tour, as we can take you through both daytime and nighttime Hanoi in one walk, and the contrast is truly special. As the sun goes down, the city becomes even more vibrant and energetic - lights come on, food stalls get busier, and Hanoi feels alive in a different way.

Our food tours are walking tours, because we truly believe the best way to explore the Hanoi's Old Quarter is on foot. The traffic here is usually busy, and walking allows us to slow down to notice everyday details, easily step into tiny alleys, and discover hidden local spots that you would simply miss on a motorbike.

That said, if you’re heading to Ho Chi Minh City afterward, a motorbike food tour there is a great choice. The vibe is completely different, the streets are wider, and the city is perfect for experiencing food culture on two wheels.

We’ve designed the Taste of Hanoi food tour at a comfortable, relaxed pace. The walking is broken into short segments, usually just 50-400 meters at a time, and at each stop we sit down, eat, and take a break before continuing. The total walking distance is often less than 2km, spread out over several hours, so it never feels rushed.
