From the moment we met Loren and her lovely family of three from New Zealand, we knew this would be a special day - their first time in Vietnam, and hearts wide open to explore.

🚲 But it was the cyclo ride that stole our family’s hearts, especially little Ruby. As the cyclos gently rolled up to the curb, their faces lit up with excitement. Gliding through the Old Quarter’s narrow alleys, wind in their hair, soaking in local street life at a peaceful pace… It wasn’t just a ride, it was a moment of connection, a moving window into the heartbeat of the city.

One of the most touching moments came at a quiet temple nestled in the Old Quarter. Our family weren’t just looking around, they were truly engaged. Eyes full of curiosity, they listened closely as we shared stories of ancient altars, sacred animals carved into rooftops, and the meaning behind incense offerings…Their questions opened the door to a deeper conversation about respect, ancestors, and spiritual connection in Vietnamese life. Moments like that remind us how beautiful it is when cultures meet not just with cameras, but with open hearts.

🎨 And if you think painting bamboo dragonflies sounds too tricky – Loren’s family thought so too at first! But within minutes, brushes were in hand, eyes focused, laughter flowing. Their creativity really shines, each dragonfly was painted with patience and love, turning into colorful masterpieces.
