Hi, it's Emma here! Did you know that Linh & I met through our work at Keep Vietnam Clean (KVC) - a social enterprise with a mission to inspire sustainable living and environmental health across Vietnam? That's where it all started.
Back in 2023, I joined KVC on a trip to Cát Bà Island for a site visit and beach cleanup. It was sweaty, sandy, and so rewarding. That day, surrounded by nature and like-minded people, reminded us how powerful small actions can be when we do them together.
🌱 And this year, for Earth Day 2025, KVC is back at it — organizing another cleanup event to keep the momentum going! While Linh is busy exploring hidden corners of Hanoi with our guests today, I decided to reconnect with my roots and join KVC’s clean-up again. This time, it was Tuần Châu - Hạ Long, and together with the awesome crew, we collected around 500kg of trash! 😱
Of course, I couldn’t help myself and did my own little clean-up along the beach too - just me, my bag, and a stubborn love for clean coastlines 😄.
At Beyond Vietnam, this spirit of sustainability stays with us every day. We try to reduce single-use items on every tour and in our daily lives - bringing our own water bottles and tote bags, and gently encouraging local vendors to switch to greener options like glass straws, sugarcane straws, and cutting down on plastic bags. It’s not always easy, but every small change adds up. And honestly? A lot of vendors are more than willing once they see how simple the swap can be!
🌟 This Earth Day, we’d love to invite you to join hands - whether it’s picking up a few bits of trash, saying no to a plastic straw, or join us to support local businesses, help to reduce emissions, and minimize single-use waste through responsible travel. Small steps, big impact 💪🌿
