It was a sunny day in Hanoi with a dazzling beam, just the perfect day to welcome our lovely family from Australia: Shelly, her husband and their two adorable little boys!

From the very start, our explorers couldn't hide their excitement from diving into Vietnamese flavors! The family not only tried various lesser-known foods that all locals love, but also got to learn more about the culture and people of Hanoi. Mom and dad instantly fell in love with river crab noodle soup, also known as “bún riêu cua”: rich, flavorful, and surprisingly not fishy at all. Although it was the first time, our kids were using chopsticks like pros, and they loved the dish too! But their favorite? Nothing beats a refreshing, sweet and cool watermelon juice in such weather! It instantly won their hearts from sip number one 🍉💦

What we looked forward to the most? Meeting our two little adventurers, and yes, we came prepared with cute Capybara stickers just for them! Plus some fans cause we know Hanoi’s heat can be a challenge. Turns out, those little things made a big difference. The little ones were a bit afraid to try new food at first, but after Sue’s gentle encouragement, they finally gave the pyramid rice dumpling - “bánh giò” - a brave bite and proudly earned a Capybara sticker from us with the brightest smiles. Seeing their eyes lit up with joy really made our day!

💛 To Shelly’s family, thank you for choosing us to be a part of your journey in Hanoi. We hope your time here with us left an unforgettable memor teacher scheduley, and every time you think about Vietnam, you’ll think of us and that delicious bowl of “bún riêu cua”. We will always be here, happily welcome you guys back for more amazing dishes!
