Family-Friendly Hanoi Tour: Art, Food and Fun With Little Kids | Beyond Vietnam

Hanoi, Oct 23rd, 2025

We had the sweetest day exploring Hanoi with Mariko, her friend and her little boy Alex from the UK, a cheerful team who brought so much warmth to the city.

From the very first food stop, Hanoi clearly won our family’s hearts. Mariko adored both the silky rolls and the pork of “bánh cuốn” - steamed roll rice pancakes. But Alex? He had a very clear favorite and pulled an epic move: eating two full portions of the savory pork “chả” - minced pork patties dipped in fish sauce. Another dish that our boy loved was Vietnamese donuts “bánh rán”. Happily munched on not 1, but 2 sugar-coated “bánh rán” while enjoying the cyclo ride, soaking in the sights of Hanoi.

The true highlight of the day? Definitely our craft experiences as Alex’s an art-loving kid. His eyes lit up at the wooden stamp stop, watched closely as Mr. Toàn - our passionate and friendly artisan carved his name onto the dragon stamp he had chosen. We wrapped the journey with a burst of colors - everyone painting bamboo dragonflies with full focus, full joy like true artists. Little Alex was so happy and proud to play with his masterpiece!

It was a day full of small moments that felt warm and connected, the kind that make family travel unforgettable. Thank you Mariko and Alex for exploring Hanoi with us, we hope Hanoi’s stories and flavours will stay with you guys. 💛
