“Hi, I've been enjoying seeing your photos with families” - That was Leah’s very first message to us.

Months later, we finally met Leah, her husband, and their 3-year-old son, Jack, in Hanoi. Over two unforgettable days, Milton guided the family through Hanoi’s hidden gems, vibrant street food, and local daily life, from colorful morning markets to bustling night streets. They tasted Hanoi’s unique cuisine, learned the stories behind traditional dishes, and experienced the city like locals.

I waited until the end of the tour to finally say hello and give them a small gift as a thank you - a bamboo dragonfly I hand-painted, lime green with rainbow wings (Jack’s favorite colors) and his name on it. We called it “Little Jack,” and Jack’s eyes lit up. He balanced it on his tiny finger, and even on his nose 😂 He promised to bring it home safely to Australia. My heart melted right there.

In return, Leah shared glimpses of their life back home - golden sunrises, lush vegetable gardens, and a video of Jack riding his bike. His big brother, who stayed home, is already an amazing biker too! It was so fun discovering their family’s little adventures and bravery. Today, writing these lines, I miss this lovely family so much… especially little Jack and his dragonfly 💛
