Say hello to Wanda’s lovely family of six from Australia, exploring Hanoi during a two-week family holiday. From the very start, we knew the day would be filled with laughter, curiosity, and great energy.
With Casey as their companion for the day, Wanda’s family wandered through Hanoi’s streets on a family-friendly walking food tour, discovering hidden gems, enjoying local street food, and learning the stories behind each dish. Our Aussie crew loved everything, but bánh rán (Vietnamese donuts) and chè (sweet soup) clearly stole the show.
The boys were especially eager to try everything. “Wow!” came after the very first bite — even before the bowls arrived — when they caught a whiff of a secret ingredient: mắm tôm (shrimp paste). Seconds later, they were already asking to add more to their bún riêu cua (river crab noodle soup).
While Wanda and Blair enjoyed the day in the most relaxed, easygoing way, the kids were open, energetic, and full of curiosity. Casey quickly became friends with them, and between food stops, we shared not only stories about food and culture, but also games, books, and little moments from daily life. Street corners came alive with laughter and chatter. It didn’t feel like a tour — more like a fun hangout shared together.
