Taste of Hanoi: A food tour full of “Wow” moments

Hanoi, December 27th, 2025

We were happy to welcome Jacek and his wife from Poland, and Andrew with his wife Kathryn from Australia, all ready to dive into the flavors of Hanoi.

One local stop led to another, and along the way, Casey quietly connected our guests not only with the food, but with the stories behind each dish, the places, the vendors who keep these traditional flavors alive year after year, and the rhythm of the city itself. Even though Jacek doesn’t eat mushrooms, we customized the dishes so everyone could enjoy the experience together. “Bún riêu” - river crab noodle soup quickly became a shared favorite. Andrew took one spoon and “wow”, his wife also nodding in full agreement. “Thịt xiên nướng”, “bánh rán”, “bánh gối”,... - each stop added another layer of delight.

Every dish was a hit! And just when they thought it couldn’t get better, in came “bánh cuốn” - steamed rolled rice pancakes. “Wow, where am I, this is a whole new world!” - Jacek said right after the first bite, it seems like someone’s got a new favorite. Silky, soft rice layer outside and flavorful filling, dipped in fish sauce, everyone was obsessed. And “bánh rán” - Vietnamese donuts? One bite in and they all pulled out their phones, saving the location immediately, already planning to come back the next day.
